Big K Products UK Limited “Big K” is a company with one of its distribution centers close to CTS’ offices in King’s Lynn, but with its roots in Cyprus. A family run business that has expanded significantly over the years, it supplies charcoal and other summer and winter fuel-related products to both the commercial and domestic markets.
In mid 2022, as part of the substantial refurbishment of their distribution centre in rural Norfolk, Big K asked CTS to quote for the design, supply and installation of a monitored Intruder Alarm System. The site consists of several units, a workshop, a plant room and other buildings.
CTS were required to design, supply and install a system that provides protection across the site at multiple entry points, which allows staff to move between buildings, whilst ensuring always that any unoccupied areas are protected.
Our engineers carried out the work over the course of several months between late 2022 and mid 2023 using products from the Texecom Premier range. The system can be set and unset by staff with proximity tags, which allows for ease of movement around the site. The use of proximity tags reduces the potential for false alarms, which is crucial for a monitored Intruder Alarm which has Police response.
The system also comprises a Smartcom which allows the client remote access to the system, but also allows CTS, as the installer and maintainer of the system, remote access if required for system health checks and remote support. This can save time and expense in terms of ongoing maintenance of the system.
In addition, CTS Security have since upgraded and now maintain the existing offices and warehouses.
